What is Psychotherapy?
Psychotherapy is a treatment that involves relationship between a therapist and a patient. It can be used to treat a broad variety of emotional or adjustment difficulties. A psychologist can help you identify your problems and then figure out ways to best cope with them, change contributing behaviors or habits, or find constructive ways to deal with a situation that is beyond your control.

How does a therapy session go?
The goals of treatment and arrangements for how often to meet are planned jointly by the patient and therapist. Therapy is a collaborative effort. You and your therapist will identify goals, what you want to have happen, and agree on how you'll know when you're making progress.

Does Psychotherapy work?
Research shows that most patients who received psychotherapy experience symptom relief and are better able to function in their lives. Psychotherapy has been shown to improve emotions and behaviors to be linked with positive changes in the brain and body. The cost of not treating problems can cause greater personal anguish, substance abuse, poor work performance, and broken relationships with family and friends.

What is Child Treatment?
A child's parents provide a comprehensive history of the child's functioning. Because children can not easily express their feelings, the therapist may use play therapy to understand the problem at hand and a program of positive rewards as well as parent education to change the child's behavior.
